In Greek mythology, Otrera was described as the first queen of Amazons. Otrera was the daughter of Eurus (god of east wind).
Otrera was wife of Ares (god of war) and mother of Hippolyta, Antiope1, Melanippe, and Penthesilea. According to some version Otrera was described as the daughter and also wife of Ares. Otrera founded the celebrated shrine of Artemis at Ephesus, which was closely connected with Amazons.
