In Greek mythology, Panacea was described as the goddess of Universal remedy. Panacea was the daughter of of Asclepius and Epione. Panacea was an attendant of her father, the medicine-god Asclepius.

Panacea and her four sisters each performed a facet of Apollo's art: Panacea (the goddess of remedy), Hygieia ( goddess of health, cleanliness, and sanitation), Iaso (the goddess of recuperation from illness), Aceso (the goddess of the healing process), and Aglaea (the goddess of beauty, splendor, glory, magnificence, and adornment).
In rare version (perhaps in error), Panacea was described the mother of Hygieia (by her father Asclepius).
